The little black dress is a staple in most girls’ wardrobes. It seems like it should be an easy item to acquire. Run into your favorite store and snap one up! I , however, have never found this to be an easy task. Now there are those like my daughter, who is a size 2, who can throw on anything and it looks fabulous. However, I’m a curvy size 8 so what looks good on a hanger may look very different than what I envision once I try it on; for one thing, my top half is a different size than my bottom half, blah blah, you get the picture. I have found that the LBD is worth the hunt. I have several black skirts (another essential) but 2 LBD’s. One I spent some serious dough on and I love it, but it has restrictions: no weight fluctuations allowed and doesn’t work well with a jacket of any sort. My favorite LBD is one I picked up on a whim at a resale shop for $12.00 about 7 years ago. Obviously, it is of good quality to put up with me for 7 years. It is very form fitting, but the true beauty of this dress is that it looks fabulous by itself or with a day or evening jacket. Being so super form fitting, the jacket option is this girl’s best friend! My weight can fluctuate 5 lbs.(hello holidays!) or for whatever reason, I can just adjust the look with a jacket.
I’ve posted a pic below on an evening out with friends.
